About Harkins

Harkin’s Harbour Bar is the closest pub to Dublin’s famous Guinness Brewery. We’re proud of the rich history behind these walls, in particular, the pub’s connection to the renowned Irish writer, Brendan Behan. Behan would regularly meet with friends in the Harbour Lights Bar, now known as The Harbour Bar. It was here he had his last drink in March 1964 before suffering a heart attack. An IRA guard of honour escorted his coffin during a funeral that one newspaper described as “The biggest funeral since those of Michael Collins and Charles Stewart Parnell”. We’re located just a 2 minute walk from the Guinness Storehouse, where a perfect Guinness and friendly bar staff await you!
